All our cakes are home made to order and only the best ingredients are used. The cakes that we offer are fruit, sponge and chocolate sponge with a variety of fillings. Most of our celebration or wedding cakes can be any or a combination of the cakes that we provide.
When it comes to the design of your cake, be it wedding or celebration, we will endeavour to get it as close to your specification as possible. This is what we specialised in!!! You will, however, be required to come in for free consultation, if you require something out of the ordinary. But feel free to come in and speak with us, whatever you require.
The fruit cakes are made well in advance of the celebration, as we allow adequate time for the cake to mature. We, therefore, advise that you place your order at least 6 months in advance, however, we do have spares for those who are less prepared!! Because the cakes are allowed to mature the taste is superb, but if your mouth is not watering yet, as a bonus, before the fruits are added into the cake mix, they will have been soaked in brandy and allowed to mature as well, the result is a moist and deliciously mouth watering cake. All fruit cakes are covered in marzipan and fondant icing unless otherwise specified.
Sponge cakes are baked as close to the collection date as possible and are therefore fresh, light, moist and yummy!! The filling consists of either jam or butter-cream or both. The butter-cream can also be flavoured with coffee, orange or lemon to add a delicious twist to your cake.
Chocolate sponge for all those chocoholics!! A heavenly rich, moist and chocolatey cake to die for. The filling can be cherry, raspberry or strawberry jam and/or chocolate butter-cream.
Some shaped cakes made from sponge or chocolate cannot be filled with jam, buttercream or chocolate buttercream as this could cause the cake to distort or shift from it's orginal position. However a thin coating of buttercream or chocolate buttercream will be applied to cover the cake prior to covering with sugarpaste.
Each design is specific in details and as such will vary in the amount of work needed to complete the design. As the designers of all the cake we do, we reserve the right to use our judgment to do what we think is right to achieve the best results possible.
